All I can see is a stack of several white and grey boxes.
i use a mac and tried in both safari and firefox.

Of course this is a “proof of concept” page and the effect will only be visible during the starting phase (a couple of seconds depending on ambiant temperature). I just tried on my wife’s Macbook pro (both in safari and firefox), everything works as intended
Do not see anything but…as blink squares ?
Use windows 7 …and vista whatis the purpose ? otherwise like what you do.

As for this, great concept. Could see this useful on a Steampunk-style page. One suggestion: Instead of the divs simply flashing, perhaps make it like a real fluorescent light and get gradually brighter (very quickly gradually) and then a blink or two. It does take a little long for all of the divs to appear.
Otherwise, very creative. Nice job.

and now it flickers every once in a while (though only two bars right now as I haven’t finished yet)
